  • Required: 2 months fee payment in advance at time of registration
  • Registration Fee: $50/- one time for new students

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES

Who is eligible for the course?
  • Have the basic ability to read Qur’anic text.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • Students must also have a personal interest to learn and understand the Qur’an.

COURSE INFORMATION

What language is the course offered in?
English.
I heard about the course late, can I still join? How will I cover the missed lessons?
Yes, admissions are always ongoing depending on spots availability of class and upon meeting course prerequisites. Students can submit the registration form (below) which will be followed by an interview with Academic Office prior to confirmation of admission.
Are there any age limits?
This course is specifically being offered for young girls (9-16 years), to ensure  learning progresses in a comfortable and open atmosphere with focus on youth and their perceptions, learning expectations are also set as age- appropriate.
My sister/daughter/niece is very brilliant but he doesn't meet the minimum age requirement, can he please apply?
Students under the age limit will be interviewed by the Course Coordinator, to determine their level of comprehension. Students who don’t fit the learning expectations of the course may find it challenging to continue.

REGISTRATION

How do I register?
The registrations are to be done Online Only. The online form can be found here.  It may take up to 5-7 days to receive any response. We will appreciate your cooperation.
Interview or Assessment: What should I expect?
For applicants there is interview to assess the suitability of this course for them. This Interview comprises of a basic Tajweed evaluation, a quick discussion of personal interests, and commitment level of the applicant.

TIMINGS

When does the course begin?
Once the student has completed the registration process, payment and admission is confirmed, the student can start attending the class, inshaAllah.
What is the complete duration of the course?
Course Duration: Its expected the student can complete the memorization of the entire Qur’an in 2-3 years.

Regular student assessments and one-one teacher-parent meetings are conducted during this duration to achieve the set course targets accordingly.

FEES

How can I pay my fees? Cash /Cheque?
For new registrations students are requested to pay at the fee window.

For ongoing payments students can setup ‘Pre-Authorised Payments’ [PAP] by asking for the PAP forms at the Fee Window.

*** Monthly Tuition Fee is also collected at the AlHuda Institute (5671 McAdam Road) at Fee Window !

*** Tuition fee will be due First Week of each month.

*** Accepted forms of payment via Cash, Debit card or Cheque.

*** Cheque must be payable to: “Al Huda Islamic Centre of Canada”.

Fee Window Hours of operation:

Tuesday & Thursday 9:00 am-3:00 pm or Saturday & Sunday 9:45 am-2:00 pm

I cannot pay the fees, can I still do the course?
Any one with financial challenges can discuss their matter with the Academic Office.

BOOKS

What books are we required to have?
Needed books will be provided by the Class Teacher.

ATTENDANCE

Are there any tests or exams? If so, are they written or oral?
Yes. The class teacher will inform about assessments during the first 2 weeks of the classes.
Is there active participation required in the course?
Yes, students recite their lessons and teacher listens to students’ Tajweed, ask questions pertaining to their daily lesson, and conduct various different activities related to the course.

GRADUATING

In order to obtain the certificate, am I required to complete all the tests/assessments?
Yes, the student must successfully complete all the required assessments with a passing grade (80%), and maintain an Attendance of 90% in order to obtain a certificate.

STUDENTS’ GENERAL GUIDE

I have a physical condition which prevents me from sitting over an hour, can I still join? Will there be special accommodation for my condition?
This can be discussed with Course Coordinator as per need.
Are there any extra hours I'll need to spend studying over the week?
Yes, this course will have its weekly learning requirements and assessments, hence students must be prepared to dedicate required hours every week to accomplish good results. Homework is assigned in this course as in any other educational program.
Is there a uniform code?
Yes. Black abaya and dark blue scarf

VOLUNTEERING

Is there any service at the Institute I can volunteer for?
Yes, the Institute is always in need of committed, energetic and modest volunteers for a variety of events and setup needs. If you are able to dedicate a few hours every week, please discuss with the class teacher.
Will I be able to get any reference letter if I do any volunteer services there?
Yes, students can get their volunteer hours mentioned with their reference letter.
