Taleem al-Hadith 2012
COURSE
PREREQUISITES
1.
Who is
eligible for the course?
-
Students who have completed Taleem al Quran.*
*Decision regards to students who have not completed
Taleem al Quran will be based on interview.
o
Students aged 15 and above; must have fluency in the
English language and Arabic recitation.
o
Students must also have a personal interest to learn
and understand Ahadith.
2.
I do not meet
the pre-requisites of this course. Do you offer any
other courses where I can learn the Qur’an?

I want to
join this course but I am living outside Canada.
What is the procedure to join this course?
-
Students from any part of the world are welcome to
join us onsite or online. Students are responsible
to make arrangements for their study visa and other
travel legalities. Al Huda does not facilitate visa
arrangements. Hostel facilities are available on the
condition of having a valid visa.

Can I join
this course as a full-time registered listener?
-
Yes you can insha'Allah. Please fill out a
registration form available at the Reception. The
fee for a full-time registered listener is 50% of
the course fee per month.
COURSE
INFORMATION
1.
What language
is the course offered in?
- English.
- Taleem
al Hadith course is also being offered in Urdu on
the weekends.
2.
Are there any
male instructors in this course?
-
We often have male scholars visit the institute to
give a lecture on different topics. It is a
possibility to have a male instructor teaching a
particular subject as part of the Taleem al-Hadith
curriculum.
REGISTRATION

How do I
register? Can I register Online?

The form is available online at
www.alhudainstitute.ca under the Courses link.

And when are
we supposed to register by?

Registrations dates for Taleem al-Hadith 2012 are
January 6th & 7th, 2012. Please submit your
registration form at your earliest and you
will be contacted further.
3.
What should I
expect in the Test and Interview on the Registration
Day?
-
The test will comprise of a basic evaluation of the
student’s level of Qur’an recitation.

The interview comprises of a discussion of personal
interests, inclinations, goals of joining this
course and commitment level of the applicant.
4.
I only found out
about the course after the registration dates? Can I
still register?

Yes. For details please call Reception for
information.
TIMINGS

When does the
course begin?
-
The course begins on the Monday, 16th Jan, 2012,
insha'Allah.

What is the
complete duration of the course as well as the days
and timings?

Course Duration: January, 2012 – July 2012

Timings: Monday – Thursday: 9:00am – 3:00pm E.S.T.

Is there a
specified time each day for course instruction or
can a student work at their own pace?

There is a specified time each day for the course.

Due to major
time differences in some parts of the worlds, will
the class recording be replayed at a different time?

No, as a regular procedure this facility is not
available yet.
FEES
1.
What is the
tuition fee of the course?
-
Fees for this course is $125 per month.
2.
How can I pay
my fees? Cash /Cheque?
-
Fees are payable in cash/cheque/debit.
3.
I cannot pay
the fees, can I still do the course?
-
Students must arrange for the full first month fee
at the time of registration.

Financial support is approved only after a certain
probation period in which student’s Academic
performance and commitment are taken into account.

BOOKS

What books
are we required to have?

The books can be purchased from the Al Huda
Bookstore at the Institute.

ATTENDANCE
1.
Is attendance
required at a physical location to write the exam?
-
Yes, it is mandatory for all Onsite registered
students. Online students write and submit their
tests online.
2.
Do we get
holidays for special occasions such as Eid?
-
Yes. Alhamdulillah. Complete list of holidays can be
available from the Course Incharge.
3.
Can I take a
few weeks off due to pregnancy/delivery/wedding?
-
Yes, however, it is upon the student to make up for
missed notes/test/assignments. A leave of Absence
note should be submitted to the Course Incharge
ahead of time.
4.
I have
work/school commitments from 3:00 pm due to which I
have to leave early, will I be allowed to leave the
class early, or drop in late as a routine?
-
No. Missing lessons regularly as a routine will
negatively impact learning and understanding.
5.
I won't be
able to come [a certain day/when tests are held]
will I be allowed to write the tests at my own
convenience?
-
No. All students are expected to follow and fulfil
the required attendance criteria.
ASSESSMENTS
1.
Are there
tests or exams? If so, are they written or oral?
-
Yes, there are different tests and assignments for
different subjects. The test may be written or oral
depending on the subject i.e. Hifz has an oral test.
2.
Is there
active participation required in the course i.e., do
I have to interact with instructors/students?
-
Yes, each student whether on-site or online will be
assigned a group. Students will do their lessons and
write their tests in that group.
GRADUATING
1.
In order to
obtain the certificate, am I required to complete
all the subjects?
-
Yes, the student must successfully complete all the
required subjects’ tests and assignments with a
passing grade in order to obtain a certificate.
2.
Will
certificate of this course be recognized by other
Islamic schools to enable me become a teacher or use
the credits of this course anywhere?
-
Not guaranteed.

The class is
completely online and physical attendance is not
required. Online Students' attendance is taken
online daily.

TRANSPORT

Is transport
facility provided for all students? If yes, what are
the charges?

An official
transport facility is not provided for all students.
However, car pooling is encouraged.

ride to and from the institute may contact the
Course Incharge to arrange for a ride.

facility provided for Hostel students? If yes, what
are the charges?

Yes, transport
facility is provided for the Hostel students to and
from school.

CHILD
CARE

Is there any
facility for babies and toddlers?

Yes, there is proper
onsite facility only available for registered
student mothers. Charges apply.
2.
Is there a proper
program I can enrol my toddler in while I am also
studying for this course?

structured program that is followed during the same
hours only available for registered student mothers.

HOSTEL
1.
What do I need to
do and what are the documents required if I am
coming from overseas to do the course and wish to
stay at the Hostel

Yes, Hostel facility
is available for overseas students. Charges details
will be made available on request and after a phone
interview.
3.
Is there any pick up
and drop off services to and from the airport for
Hostel students at vacation time or otherwise?

Yes. However, the
student must inform the Hostel Incharge at least a
week before hand in order to make the necessary
arrangements.
4.
Can I have my
parents or guardians visit/stay with me at the
Hostel for few days?
-
Not at the hostel.
They will need to make their own arrangements.
VOLUNTEERING
1.
Is there any service
at the Institute I can volunteer for?
-
Yes, for further
details to be discussed with Course Incharge.
2.
Will I be able to
get any reference letter if I do any volunteer
services there?

Yes, students can
get their volunteer hours mentioned with their
reference letter.
STUDENTS’
GENERAL GUIDE
1.
Will I be able to
continue my university/school along with this
course?
-
It is generally
difficult to continue University/school
simultaneously with the Taleem al-Hadith as it is a
full time intensive course.
2.
I have a physical
condition which prevents me from prolonged sitting,
can I still join? Will there be special
accommodation for my condition?
-
This can be
discussed with Course Incharge as per need.
3.
Are there any extra
hours I'll need to spend studying over the week?
-
Yes, Taleem al-Hadith
has ongoing tests scheduled frequently, hence
students must be prepared to dedicate few hours
every week to accomplish good results. Homework is
assigned in this course as in any other educational
program
4.
Is there a uniform
code?
-
-Yes.
For Taleem al-Hadith students, a black abaya (or a
black skirt and a loose black top) and a white
headscarf. Head scarves are available to purchase at
the bookstore.
