About the course
This advanced course will take students through a comprehensive study of selected chapters of the Sahih Al Bukhari, Uloom al Hadith, Fiqh al Qulub, Husn al Khuluq, Advanced Tajweed, Hifdh & Tadabbur of Juz 30.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Read the original Sahih Al Bukhari text
- Understand the Hadith in Arabic
- Appreciate the authenticity and depth of the various Hadith
- Derive lessons from Hadith and connect it with their own lives.
- Differentiate between Sahih, Hasan and Da’eef Hadith
- Learn about the scholars who contributed to the collection and compilation of Hadith
- Memorize Juz 30
- Reflect deeply on the exegesis (tafseer) of Juz 30 based on 16 different tafaseer in Arabic
- Recite the Qur’an with an advanced understanding of the different Makhaarij and Sifaat
- Nurture the necessary skills for effective communication and other life skills through different workshops
- Find the motivation to serve humanity

Ways to take the course
There are several ways to take the course:
This option will allow you to be in a classroom environment, to experience student-teacher interactions, to study alongside other students and to get the opportunity to learn, practice and share in a group setting.
This option is available to everyone regardless of gender, age and/or location. It will allow you to join the course at its designated time from the comfort of your home.
Our instructors are all advanced students of Dr. Farhat Hashmi. Through extended study, instructors have developed a sense of understanding and appreciation for the Words of Allah and as such, have taken on the responsibility of passing that knowledge on. They have dedicated numerous hours of obtaining knowledge and have now made it their life goal to impart this knowledge. Approachable and friendly, our teachers yearn for the success of their students. Their enthusiasm and patience are key driving elements that enable students to fully immerse in the Words of Allah and the Prophet (SAW).
- For classes on site, women only. For online, men & women.

- Must have fluency in the English language and Arabic recitation of the Qur’an.
- Students must also have a personal interest to learn and understand the Qur’an and Hadith.

I do not meet the prerequisites of this course. Do you offer any other courses where I can learn the Qur’an and Hadith?
I am a student from abroad and I would like to study at Al Huda Institute on campus. What steps do I need to take in order to register for the course?
Students from any part of the world are welcome to join us onsite or online.

I heard about the course late, can I still join? How will I cover the missed lessons?
- Yes, late admissions are accepted upon meeting course prerequisites
- You are required to make up for the missed lessons in order to obtain a certificate in Taleem
al Hadith. Please discuss with the Course Coordinator for more information.
Can I join this course just to listen in, as opposed to being a student?

What happens if a student enrolls after the registration due date has passed? How will I cover the missed lesson?
You may come and speak to the Course Coordinator in person and will be guided accordingly.

Where can I purchase the books from?
What is the minimum attendance percentage required in order to receive the certificate?
Do we get holidays for special occasions such as Eid?
Can I take a few weeks off due to pregnancy/delivery/wedding?
Yes, however, it is upon the student to make up for missed notes/tests/assignments. A leave of absence note should be submitted to the Course Coordinator ahead of time.
I have work/school commitments on the weekdays due to which I have to leave early, will I be allowed to leave the class early, or drop in late as a routine?
Are there any tests or exams? If so, are they written or oral?
Is there active participation required in the course i.e., do I have to interact with instructors/students?
Yes, each student whether on-site or online will be assigned a group. Instructors will listen to student’s Hifdh of Qur’an and practice Hadith & other text reading.
In order to obtain the certificate, am I required to complete all the tests/assessments?
Yes, the student must successfully complete all the required tests and assignments with a passing grade (80%) in order to obtain the certificate.
Will the diploma I receive for this course be recognized by other Islamic schools to enable me become a teacher or use the credits of this course anywhere?
After learning tajweed from this course, will I have the 'Ijazah' (permission certificate to teach tajweed)?

Will I be able to get any reference letter if I do any volunteer services there?
I have a physical condition which prevents me from prolonged sitting, can I still join? Will there be special accommodation for my condition?

Are there any extra hours I'll need to spend studying over the week?
Yes, this course will have quizzes online, scheduled to be attempted during the weekdays, hence students must be prepared to dedicate a few hours every week to do well. Homework is assigned in this course, as in any other educational program.
Is there a uniform?
Yes. A black abaya (or a black skirt and a loose black top) and a white headscarf. Headscarves are available to purchase at the bookstore.
