📖 The name Al Kabeer appears 6 times in the Qur’an.

✨Allah SWT is the greatest and there is nothing greater than Him. He is truly great in His attributes, His names, and His actions. No matter what status or height we gain, Allah SWT will always remain greater than us.

💭We should remind ourselves not to get too caught up in the greatness of people, because Allah SWT is greater than all and we must remember to glorify His greatness.We should always remain humble, we should never think of acts of worship for our Creator beneath us, whether it’s in public or private spaces.

🤲🏽How can we make Dua using these great names?

1️⃣Upon hearing “Allahu Akbar” during Adhan, we must respond by saying “Allahu Akbar” ourselves and also reflect on the meaning that Allah SWT truly is the greatest.
2️⃣Respond with action, pray sooner than later upon hearing the Adhan
3️⃣Do Dhikr, say “SubhanAllah, Allhumdulilah, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah”

💗May Allah forgive us and remove any pride from our hearts

📖 Al Mutakabbir appears once in the Quran.

🔍Comes from the word تَكَبُّر - which means to magnify one’s self, to show one’s self as great, which can be done in done two:

1️⃣Someone is truly great, so they reveal their greatness, this only befits Allah SWT, only Allah is Al Mutakabbir

2️⃣Assuming greatness, when a person falsely believes they are great and they begin bragging about qualities that may not be in them

• Iblees had an arrogant quality in him when he said "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay [i.e., earth]." (Al A’raf, 12)

🚫As creation, it doesn’t befit us to have this quality, if we have any great quality, are we truly the source of that greatness? Whether it is our knowledge, money, or beauty, it was Allah SWT who gave it to us. We wouldn’t have existed unless our Creator created us. Even if we think we are the greatest, there will always be someone greater than us.

🤲🏽May Allah SWT forgive us and remove any pride from our hearts, Ameen.

꧁ 𝗔𝗹 Jabbaar ꧂
📖 The name Al Jabbaar comes once in the Quran as the name of Allah where Allah SWT mentions

هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ السَّلَامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَزِيزُ الْجَبَّارُ الْمُتَكَبِّرُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

“He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Grantor of Security, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him” (Al Hashr: 23)

🌟Al Jabbaar comes from two words:

جَبْر1️⃣ - To set a bone, when a bone is broken, you put it on a splint. It means to restore what is broken.
One must go through great discomfort in order to have it fixed, we become confined and compelled in our movement in order for it to heal
When one is going through poverty or financial constraint and another helps them, they have been restored through the help. Hence, جَبْر can also mean to restore or improve someone’s condition and fulfil their need
جَبَرَ2️⃣ - To compel, or restrain another against their will.
This is only possible by someone who is powerful and strong

When Al Jabbaar is used for people in the Quran, it is used in a negative connotation. Such is the case when Allah SWT mentions:

وَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡنِىۡ جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا

“...And He has not made me a wretched tyrant” (Maryam, 30)

🚫 This is not a befitting quality for humans, we must strive for humility, patience, and kindness. We can never become Al Jabbaar, regardless of how powerful we think we are, we will always be overcome by another human, or by death.

✅ But when Allah SWT is described as Al Jabbaar, it is praiseworthy for Him. He is higher than His servants, He prevails over His servants.

💗 When we recognize that Allah SWT is Al Jabbaar, we become humble in front of our Creator. We recognize that He satisfies our needs and He helps us through difficulties and hardships.

📖 The name Al Azeez comes in the Quran 92 times, Allah SWT mentions

وَلِلّٰهِ الۡمَثَلُ الۡاَعۡلٰى ؕ وَهُوَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الۡحَكِيۡمُ

“..and for Allah is the highest attribute. And He is Exalted in Might, the Wise” (An Nahl: 60)

✨Al Azeez means that He has Al ‘Izzah:

💭 What does Al ‘Izzah mean?

1️⃣ Honor & dignity

• “All honor and dignity belongs to Allah and His messenger (ﷺ) and to the believers”. In that context, Al Azeez is the one who is Ever Honorable

2️⃣ Power and Might

• Al Azeez is the one who is Ever powerful and Ever mighty

3️⃣ To resist and withhold

• Al Azeez is the one who invincible, He cannot be overcome and He cannot be harmed by creation

4️⃣ To conquer and prevail

• Allah SWT is the one who overcomes and prevail and He is not to be overcome

As His creation, we must respect and worship Him in a way that these characteristics are truly embodied. Our Creator gives honour to whom He will and He gives might and honour to whom He wills. When Allah SWT is Al Azeez, it means His slaves, His helpers must not be humiliated as Allah SWT will honour and strengthen them.

When we humble ourselves in front of our Creator and remind ourselves that all honour and might belongs to Allah SWT, it becomes easier for us to forgive people.
