As you may have heard, on Thursday Dec. 14th there was a concerning incident where a sister entered the institute in significant distress after an apparent conflict. There were initial concerns that she was the subject of a hate crime and Peel Police was immediately called.
After some investigation it became apparent that this was not a hate crime, and that there is no threat to the community or to staff & students attending Al Huda. The sister was involved in a personal conflict, and out of respect to her and the family, we will not share further details about the incident.
We appreciate the community’s vigilance and concern, it is important to keep an eye out for dangerous situations.
