About the course

This advanced course will take students through a comprehensive study of selected chapters of the Sahih Al Bukhari, Uloom al Hadith, Fiqh al Qulub, Husn al Khuluq, Advanced Tajweed, Hifdh & Tadabbur of Juz 30.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Read the original Sahih Al Bukhari text
  • Understand the Hadith in Arabic
  • Appreciate the authenticity and depth of the various Hadith
  • Derive lessons from Hadith and connect it with their own lives.
  • Differentiate between Sahih, Hasan and Da’eef Hadith
  • Learn about the scholars who contributed to the collection and compilation of Hadith
  • Memorize Juz 30
  • Reflect deeply on the exegesis (tafseer) of Juz 30 based on 16 different tafaseer in Arabic
  • Recite the Qur’an with an advanced understanding of the different Makhaarij and Sifaat
  • Nurture the necessary skills for effective communication and other life skills through different workshops
  • Find the motivation to serve humanity

Ways to take the course

There are several ways to take the course:

On Campus

This option will allow you to be in a classroom environment, to experience student-teacher interactions, to study alongside other students and to get the opportunity to learn, practice and share in a group setting.


This option is available to everyone regardless of gender, age and/or location. It will allow you to join the course at its designated time from the comfort of your home.

Course Staff

Our instructors are all advanced students of Dr. Farhat Hashmi. Through extended study, instructors have developed a sense of understanding and appreciation for the Words of Allah and as such, have taken on the responsibility of passing that knowledge on. They have dedicated numerous hours of obtaining knowledge and have now made it their life goal to impart this knowledge. Approachable and friendly, our teachers yearn for the success of their students. Their enthusiasm and patience are key driving elements that enable students to fully immerse in the Words of Allah and the Prophet (SAW).


  • For classes on site, women only. For online, men & women.
  • age 15+
  • Must have fluency in the English language and Arabic recitation of the Qur’an.
  • Students must also have a personal interest to learn and understand the Qur’an and Hadith.


CAD $175/month for 6 months. (The billing period is the 15th of each month. E.g. January 15th-February 15th is the first month’s payment)

I am a student from abroad and I would like to study at Al Huda Institute on campus. What steps do I need to take in order to register for the course?
Students from any part of the world are welcome to join us onsite or online.

*Please note, obtaining a visa to study/stay in Canada during the duration of the course is the responsibility of the student. Al Huda Institute cannot provide any help or advice in regards to immigration-related matters.

I heard about the course late, can I still join? How will I cover the missed lessons?
  • Yes, late admissions are accepted upon meeting course prerequisites
  • You are required to make up for the missed lessons in order to obtain a certificate in Taleem al Hadith.  Please discuss with the Course Coordinator for more information.
Can I join this course just to listen in, as opposed to being a student?
Yes, If you would like to be a full-time registered listener on site, the fee is 50% of the regular tuition fee. This fee is to be paid on site only.


What language is the course offered in?

Is there Hifz also in this course?
Yes, memorization of Juz 30, In sha’ Allah.

How do I register?
The registrations for on-site students are to be done online only.  Please register for a new MyAlHuda account here. Once you’ve paid for the class through paypal, you will be enrolled into the class.

To take the class online, registration information will be available soon.   

What happens if a student enrolls after the registration due date has passed? How will I cover the missed lesson?
You may come and speak to the Course Coordinator  in person and will be guided accordingly.


When does the course begin?
The course begins on Tuesday,  January 16th, 2018, Insha’Allah.
What is the complete duration of the course?
Course Duration: 6 months

Starting date: 16th January 2018

Completion date: 29th June  2018

What are the class timings?
Timings: Tuesday – Friday 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
Due to major time differences in some parts of the worlds, will the class recording be replayed at a different time?
No, as a regular procedure this facility is not available yet. You may request your Teacher’s Assistant to send you the recording for the missed class.


What is the tuition fee of the course?
$175/ month for 6 months.
How can I pay my fees?

Fees are payable online only. The billing period is the 15th of each month. E.g. January 15th-February 15th is the first month’s payment. Please register for an account online at MyAlhuda.

I cannot pay the fees, can I still do the course?
Financial support is approved only after a certain probation period in which student’s Academic performance and commitment are taken into account. Further inquiries to be discussed with the Course Coordinator in person.

Where can I purchase the books from?

What is the minimum attendance percentage required in order to receive the certificate?
Do we get holidays for special occasions such as Eid?
Yes. Alhamdulillah. Complete list of holidays will be available on the myAlhuda portal.
Can I take a few weeks off due to pregnancy/delivery/wedding?
Yes, however, it is upon the student to make up for missed notes/tests/assignments. A leave of absence note should be submitted to the Course Coordinator ahead of time.
I have work/school commitments on the weekdays due to which I have to leave early, will I be allowed to leave the class early, or drop in late as a routine?
No. Missing lessons regularly as a routine will negatively impact learning and understanding.


Are there any tests or exams? If so, are they written or oral?
Yes, there will be oral assessments, online lesson quizzes/tests and/or onsite written tests.
Is there active participation required in the course i.e., do I have to interact with instructors/students?
Yes, each student whether on-site or online will be assigned a group. Instructors will listen to student’s Hifdh of Qur’an and practice Hadith & other text reading.


In order to obtain the certificate, am I required to complete all the tests/assessments?
Yes, the student must successfully complete all the required tests and assignments with a passing grade (80%) in order to obtain the certificate.
Will the diploma I receive for this course be recognized by other Islamic schools to enable me become a teacher or use the credits of this course anywhere?
Not guaranteed.
After learning tajweed from this course, will I have the 'Ijazah' (permission certificate to teach tajweed)?

For Online students - is the course completely online or is there physical attendance required?
The class is completely online and physical attendance is not required. Online Students’ attendance is taken online daily.


Is transport facility provided for all students? If yes, what are the charges?
An official transport facility is not provided for all students. However, car pooling is encouraged. Students who need a ride to and from the institute may contact the reception to arrange for a ride from their area of residence.
Is there any facility for babies and toddlers?
Yes, there is onsite daycare only available for registered student mothers.

Can I help out at the Institute as a volunteer?
Yes, for further details, please discuss with the Course Coordinator.
Will I be able to get any reference letter if I do any volunteer services there?
Yes, students can get their volunteer hours mentioned with their reference letter.
I have a physical condition which prevents me from prolonged sitting, can I still join? Will there be special accommodation for my condition?
This can be discussed with the Course Coordinator if necessary.
Are there any extra hours I'll need to spend studying over the week?
Yes, this course will have quizzes online, scheduled to be attempted during the weekdays, hence students must be prepared to dedicate a few hours every week to do well. Homework is assigned in this course, as in any other educational program.
Is there a uniform?
Yes. A black abaya (or a black skirt and a loose black top) and a white headscarf. Headscarves are available to purchase at the bookstore.
