Winter Care Drive 2022

Winter is almost here!

Give the Gift of Warmth!

Support our annual Winter Care Drive

When we think about winter, the first thing that comes to mind is winter clothing to protect ourselves. Imagine being in a position where you cannot afford winter clothing. With the cost of living having gone up so much over the past year, the affordability of winter gear has gone down. According to a recent report, inflation has caused prices of all commodities to rise so high that people are forced to choose between buying items of necessity such as food and clothing, or paying bills.

Serving Humanity and Al Huda Elementary have partnered together in our Winter Care Drive in order to provide winter clothing and accessories to people in need.

Join us for our ‘Winter Care Drive packing event’ on Sunday, Dec 4, from 2:30pm – 4:30pm, at Al Huda Institute. We will be sorting through winter coats and accessories, and making winter care packages. Help us spread the warmth!

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has said:

“Whoever would like Allah to shade him with His shade, let him give respite to one in difficulty …”

[Sunan Ibn Majah, 2419]

Make this winter easier for someone in the community. Help us reach our goal of providing 450 coats! Donate today.

Please note: We are not accepting any in-kind donations this year.

Winter Care Drive 2020

Give the Gift of Warmth to someone in need!

With winter now approaching, many individuals and families in our local community will not have the ability to purchase warm winter gear. The year 2020 has brought forth difficulties for many people due to Covid-19 so the need is especially strong this year. This is why Serving Humanity, in its annual Winter Care Drive has launched this year with the upgraded goal of helping 450 individuals with winter care kits.

“Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and in the Hereafter.” [Sahih Muslim]

You can be a part of easing the difficulties of others today so that Allah eases your difficulties in this world and in the Hereafter. Support our campaign by making a donation and helping us purchase items for a Winter Care Kit. A standard Winter Care Kit can include winter coats, accessories, and/or hygiene products which will be distributed locally amongst Muslims and Non-Muslims in need within the GTA. You can donate for a Winter Care Kit that costs approximately $40, or any amount.

Please note that due to Covid-19, this year we will be collecting monetary donations and distributing new coats only to ensure the health and safety of our recipients. For any further inquiries related to the campaign please email

Please note that this drive has completed. JazakAllahu Khairan Katheera to everyone who contributed.

Winter Care Drive 2019

“Those who spend their wealth (in Allah’s way) by night and by day, secretly and publicly – they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.” (Al – Baqarah : 274)

With the cold weather fast approaching, we’ve all taken out our winter gear and are ready to bundle up to face the harsh climate of Canadian winters. But for a lot of people, the sad reality is that they do not have a winter jacket, let alone other winter supplies. This is why we are collecting brand new coats and winter accessories such as gloves, mittens, scarves and hats. These items will be delivered to people in need, right here in the community.

So send your reward ahead  by helping us clothe our neighbors appropriately for this winter. Donate new jackets and winter accessories today! For your added convenience, you can also contribute with monetary donations and we will purchase coats on your behalf. Together, let’s help keep our neighbors warm this winter!

All coats and accessories can be dropped off at Alhuda reception or placed on the black table in the cafeteria. Monetary contributions can be dropped off in the golden donation bins around the institute at, 5671 McAdam Road, Mississauga.
Join us for our packing event on Saturday, November 30, 2019, from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm and help us make winter care kits. Sign up here to volunteer!
